The Government of India has notified that beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) must undergo Aadhaar authentication or provide proof of Aadhaar possession in accordance with Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act, 2016. Where Aadhaar is not available, EPFO is responsible for facilitating enrolment, and alternative verification such as OTP or offline QR code will apply in case of biometric failure. The move aims to simplify identity verification, ensure targeted delivery of benefits, enhance transparency, and reduce documentation burdens while safeguarding access for genuine beneficiaries.
